Amgram were asked by Alnmaritech Ltd to develop the structural design for a new fleet of river patrol vessels for the PLA.
The PLA awarded Alnmaritech a contract to develop a fleet of 13,5m low wash river patrol craft.
Working from the lines supplied by the yard, Amgram developed a structural scheme for submission to the MCA certifying authority. Concurrently Amgram started develop a structural model defining all the parts. This work was defined in the SHIPCONSTRUCTOR software.
The process allows very accurate assessment of weight and controls the build shape precisely- all very important with slender catamaran hull forms that are very sensitive to longitudinal trim.
Following the successful build of the first boat “Lambeth”, the PLA have ordered 4 more boats, all named after London bridges and delivered in the period up to 2012.
