Amgram were asked by the Environment Agency to review the distribution of craft operated by the EA around the UK coastline.
The EA have a fleet of craft spread around the UK coastline and the EA intended to upgrade the whole fleet and in doing this they wanted to review both the distribution of craft as well as the type.
Amgram developed a measure of overall task capacity requirement, based on craft displacement, tasks carried out historically and time taken. This was compared to current fleet availability. The work indicated that the existing fleet had an overcapacity of around 180%.
This information was then be used to assess other fleet options, suggest possible distributions around the UK and suggest pertinent aspects that the EA should consider for the new craft. Amgram also provided valuations for the existing fleet to determine a capital value.
As a result of this project the EA have now commissioned a fleet of new craft, with a revised distribution and the majority of the current fleet is being sold.
