Amgram were asked by Alnmaritech Ltd to develop the structural design for a new WFSV “Dalby Esk”.
Amgram were awarded the contract by the Builders to develop a structural design and then provide kit information for the project.
Working from the draft lines supplied by the yard, a structural scheme was developed for submission to the MCA certifying authority. Concurrently Amgram started develop a structural model defining all the parts. This work was defined in the SHIPCONSTRUCTOR software.
On completion of the 3d model, the parts are split up, to allow cutting in the most economical way and then provided to the yard as numerical data. In conjunction Amgram produced an assembly book, which details the exact location and number of every part in the kit.
The process allows very accurate assessment of weight and controls the build shape precisely- all very important with slender catamaran hull forms that are very sensitive to longitudinal trim.
